Stylish Dog Leash

Yup. That's if that what you think it is, you're right! It's a dog leash braided w/ scrap fabric and it's so cute! I made following this tutorial but I did it a little differently because I couldn't quite understand that tutorial. I took 3 strands of fabric and knotted them on the clasp and then braided. Once your fabric starts getting too short to braid just knot on another onto the remaining strand. It's pretty easy. Go make one and let your doggy be shabby chic and cute!

It's a journal, it's a diary, it's a fabric covered notebook!

Let me just start of by saying that I did not come up w/ this tutorial at all. I found it online somewhere and mine may be a little different from theirs but it's basically the same. Make sense? Ever since I found this tutorial I've wanted to make one. I do not remember or cannot find this tutorial. It must be lost in the world of cyberspace so I'm going to tell you how to do this. Hopefully.

Stuff You Need:
1. Composition notebook or some other type of non-spiral bound notebook - size is up to you.
2. Mod Podge or Elmer's glue (I used the latter)
3. Adhesive application tool - try one of those spongy/foam things. Ya'll know what I'm talking about. You're crafty...you know that thing.
4. Ribbon
5. Fabric - something a little heavy.

How To:
1. Cut ribbon into 2 strands - glue to back and front center of notebook. This is going to be the closing mechanism. So technical, right? You must wait until this is dried before moving on to step 2.
2. Apply glue to the front side of the notebook and adhere fabric.
3. Rinse, wash and repeat Step 2 for the back side of the notebook.
4. Cut off any excess fabric around the edges.
5. You should now have a journal to be proud of.

I know, I know. This probably isn't the best tutorial but ya'll are smart people and you can figure it out. The only thing I would have done differently is probably added another layer because you can kinda see the black, ugly composition notebook pattern underneath. I hope you enjoy and I would love to see what you create!

Scrap Paper Scratch Pad

This is such a great way to get rid of your scrap paper stash that's taking up room in your scrapping area. I wish I had a better tutorial to tell you how to make one of these but I don't so just pay attention because every little detail matters....just kidding. This is pretty simple.

Stuff You Need:
1. Nice collection of scrap paper (Plain or Patterned or both)
2. Paper Cutter
3. Paintbrush
4. Elmer's Washable School Glue (I'm sure any other type of glue would work but this is just what I used)

How to:
1. Cut your paper into 3" squares
2. Keep cutting until you have a nice stack going...the height of your scratch pad is completely up to you.
3. Stack your papers evenly and then spread the glue along one side of the stack w/ your paintbrush.
4. Let the glue dry and hold the stack together w/ binder clips or rubber bands. I used ponytail holders.
5. Add second coat of glue - let dry.
6. Add a ribbon or another finishing touch.
7. Enjoy your new scratch pad!!!

Easter Bunny

This is my newest card. I have to make 2 of them because they are for sisters. I really wanted to add more to this card but I just couldn't "get with the program" so to speak. I really love this bunny stamp and the colors of the card. The stamp is another dollar bin special from Michael's. I hope you like it...I have another one to make so off I go!

Croson Wedding Invites

This picture is definitley not a great example of my photography skills. Cell phone pictures just aren't the greatest. Anywho, I am really excited about these wedding invitations for a friend of mine. Light blue cardstock for the background and the wording is printed on ivory cardstock. The vellum overlay hides the beautiful font that I found online (which I completely forget where I found it or what the name of it was.) I actually tore the vellum to give it a "worn" look. The final product is a little different than the picture. The charms are attached to jump rings which are attached to the twine. I think it has a really beachy look which is what I was going for in the first place. They really look awesome in person and I can't wait until the future bride and groom can send them out. They are going to be so excited!!

I cannot wait to get these finished because I have some projects that I wanna do. The first project is the Pantone/Poloroid magnets. Ahhh!! Adorable. Very creative and artsy fartsy. I love that kind of quirky stuff.

New House

Hey everyone. I've been slacking on my posts again but I have been crazy busy. My husband and I just bought our very first home and we have some work to do to it. It's going to be adorable when it's finished it's just gonna take a few more weeks. I will hopefully have some more neato stuff up for you I just don't know when.

I also have just started working on a friend's wedding invites. I'm so excited for these and I can't wait until they come together. I'll have to put them up when they are completed.
