Ramblings and Some Cans

Welcome to Sunday! I do NOT want to get out of bed. Nate is downstairs making me breakfast and he's hopefully going to bring it up to me. I have the right to have a servant once in a while, right? Is that so wrong of me? I'm sure you ladies will understand. It's another dreary day here in Virginia and I can't say that I'm a fan of this crappy weather we're having.

(Insert Nate yelling upstairs)

Well, it looks like I was wrong about him bringing me breakfast in bed. So, I must raise up from the warm fuzzy depths of my bed and trudge downstairs with MacBook in hand. My husband loves me; he made me cheesy eggs and Starbucks coffee. I'd say the day is starting out pretty well.

Ok. Breakfast done and now I'm working on the coffee.

I have about 45 minutes before I have to get ready for church. It's go time!

While searching the other day on Pinterest, I found some DIY fabric/paper covered tin cans. Yes, like the kind you buy your veggies in. I have to say that it peaked my interest. So, while visiting the parental units one evening, I told my mom that I wanted her tin cans. She cleaned them up and gave them to me. Yay! Free!

I had also found another idea on how to cover a cork board with fabric. Naturally, I purchased some fabric, a cork board and some spray paint. Boo! Not free!

While my mom was helping me with the cork board, she said, "Why don't you use the spare fabric and cover your cans with it?" I just kinda was like, "Oh yeah, that's a good idea!" But inside, I was like a kid on Christmas screaming, "MOM! YOU ARE, LIKE, THE BEST EVER!" I really didn't have a plan for the cans yet.

After work one day, I gathered up my materials and gave her and Pinterest's idea a shot.

I have to say that my cans don't look like this:

These are gorgeous but I don't think mine are too bad. Plus, they match my new cork board! See below.

I hope that you find these photos inspiring enough to make your own! I'm trying to get a little more organized in my scrappy space. The floor is not a good place to throw your supplies.

Well, it's time for me to go to church! So, I'll leave you with this Bible verse - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11

Have a happy Sunday!

-Sam
