DIY: Notepad

I was searching through some things on craftgossip.com. This is such an awesome website for those creative ruts. Tutorials run abound on this website and you can also follow them on Facebook. They post tons and it's always easy to find them in your news feed. They have such neat stuff I really suggest you go check them out. They have everything from sewing, cooking and scrapbooking. They search online for some of the cooles ideas. All of their things come from blogs or other websites. This particular tutorial is brought to you by Green Eyed Monster.

DIY notepads. Who would have thunk it? I kinda already knew how to do this. I learned it when I was younger but I completely forgot about it. This is such a good refresher or something new for those of you who may have never thought about doing this. I can't wait to start making mine! They make an awesome little extra gift for someone's birthday or a great stocking stuffer.

I would love to see how yours turn out. I will post mine as soon as I start one. Which may be tonight. Who knows, though? It's New Year's Eve and I have no idea what my plans are tonight.

I've Been A Busy Bee...

...but not with crafting. Ugh! I'm so frustrated with myself that I haven't gotten a dang thing done in the past few weeks. My husband and I have been so busy and if we don't have somewhere to go, I have laundry to do or the house to straighten up. I've been missing everyone's awesome posts on other sites because I just haven't been on the blog.

This weekend has been a bit crazy. Friday I went shopping for some flannel sheets. I freeze to death when I go to bed at night. My husband loves to sleep with the window open and the fan on in the winter time. I hate it. Solution: flannel sheets.

Skipping to Saturday because I really don't think anyone wants to hear anymore about flannel sheets. Then again, Saturday really isn't anymore exciting than the flannel sheets. Ha! I had to work on Saturday and then I went Christmas shopping with my mom. Christmas shopping for me! I got tons of awesome stuff. My favorite thing is my Pandora bracelet! O.M.G. I freakin' love this thing. I can't wait to get more charms. A Pandora should be on every girls' wish list for Christmas. I got a cute little charm that's a horse. Too cute!

Tomorrow is back to work. I don't even feel that I've had a weekend. It has gone by way too fast. It will be 2011 before you know it. Where does the time go?

As for my crafting/cardmaking, I've definitely been slacking. I have an order to do and I don't know when I'm going to have time to do it. Ahhhhh!! I probably should be doing it now but it's 11 o'clock at night and I'm not starting a thing. I haven't sat down all weekend I don't think.

Well I hope ya'll have a good night. I'm going to have some movie time before bed!

Business Cards

Wow! Two posts in one day and I only have an hour to spare. I've never posted twice in one day.

Anywho, I thought I would share my new business cards. I don't have them yet and that's partly because I haven't ordered them yet but they are designed. I'm really proud of these. I think they are designed pretty well for being an amateur. Tell me what you think!

I wanted to create something to drudge up some business around town. I really want to get out on my own and make this a full time thing. I know that's going to take some time and pretty unlikely but I can dream and I have to start somewhere!

Mirror, Mirror on the Tree...

While nosing around in other people's blogs this morning I stumbled across these fabulous ornaments! I wanna make them. They are so modern and will be sure to add some shine to your tree. If you happen to be heading out for a Christmas party then you can just do a quick makeup check from your tree ornament. Ha!

Find the tutorial for these ornaments here. She also has other neat ideas for sewing and crafting.

FAIL.

Ok. Tonight I'm posting a major fail. I didn't realize how hard it was to roll paper to make flowers. Really? I thought I would just draw a spiral, cut it out and ta-da! No. Not that easy. I don't know if I didn't follow the instructions correctly or if I need a heavier paper. I used newspaper and that just didn't work. It also didn't help that the one flower I did make...the dog kind of ruined it by trying to eat it. I guess he wanted to help.

Here is what I was trying to accomplish.

You can find this photo and the tutorial here. This gal's blog is amazing! Check it out.

Hi.

I just wanted to type a little something. I'm not exactly sure what to write so I'm kinda just rambling. I'm not tired and I don't wanna just lay in bed and watch TV.

I have a lot of photos of cards and ornaments to post but that task is a bit time consuming for me these days. I have to take a picture, download on my computer, edit it, save it to a jump drive and then save it to my husband's Mac. I would do it all on my computer but I have a virus and my laptop is about to crash. Not only do I have a virus on my laptop but my laptop doesn't have the internet. My husband and I only have one USB thingy for the internet. So, posting is more like a chore now rather than something I enjoy doing. I think that my change once Christmas comes around because I'm getting Photoshop for Mac! Yay! I'm pretty excited about that but I have no idea how to use it. My sick laptop only has Photoshop Elements 8. I barely know how to use that. LOL! If anyone out there knows any good reference books or tutorials on how to use it, send them my way. I'm going to need all the help that I can get.

I'm not really sure that any of you people care out there why I haven't been posting as much or what I'm up to in my life at this point in time. It's just fun to put it out there to think that someone reads my blog and finds it interesting. All I really want is for people to see my cards an other creations. I only have 6 followers...so it can't be that interesting.

Its amazing how looking a bright computer screen in a dark bedroom can make my eyes heavy. Oh my.

Anyway, my cousin and I have seriously been thinking about starting our own business. She wants to start a bakery and I want to start a handmade goods/scrapbooking store. It doesn't really go together but I think it could work. Unfortunately, she works some weird hours and doesn't have Saturdays off. It's hard for us to plan. I even made her a logo and everything! For those who are reading this you should really wish us luck and pray that the good Lord blesses us with an opportunity! We would both be doing something that we really love and it would make us soooooo happy!

Hopefully, I will be having some pictures up soon of the newest things. So hang tight. Thanks for reading ya'll. Enjoy your night and leave comments. I love those!

O, Christmas Tree!

This is not your traditional Christmas colors. I like that. Red and green is just so...blah. When I think of Christmas, I think of bright colors. Pinks, blues and white. This card is inspired by Mojo Monday's newest challenge. I thought this tree stamp would be perfect for the sketch. Here's the sketch:

Here's the final result:

If you're interested you should go try this sketch out and enter the contest! It's worth a shot. What do you have to lose?

Happy Halloween!!

Hey everyone! I just want to wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween! Get lots and lots of candy. Here's the photo of the pumpkin that me and my husband carved. You see why I work with paper and glue instead of gourds. LOL!

So Impressive.

I'm pretty excited. I bought some awesome stuff last night online from impressrubberstamps.com. I love this little store. They have so much unique stamps and embellishments it's crazy! Here is what I bought:

The Little Brown Box
I thought that this little box would make for an interesting card, invitation or just another way to present a card. It is definitely a lot cuter than a boring envelope. I just love the color too! You can mix brown with a ton of colors to get an awesome combination.

Stampable Coasters
I love these. Ok. I don't just love these...I'm absolutely, head-over-heels in love with these things. How cute are they?? I mean really!! I can't wait to get my crafty little hands on these!! You can cover them in patterned paper or stamp them. They would make such a cute gift set with a coffe mug or hot chocolate/coffee mix.
I just thought that I would share some of the neat things that I purchased last night. Ya'll really need to hop on over to the website and take a look. I know you'll love it! Have a good one! I'm off to clean and then hopefully off to make something!

What's New, Pussycat??

I haven't posted in several days, possibly weeks. I'm adjusting to my new home pretty well and becoming very domestic in the process. I never thought in a million years that I would be as homey as I've become. I didn't know that I had it in me!! I always said that I would never turn into my mother and I'm finding similarities everyday. That's ok, though. I love my mommy.

I actually just finished baking. Baking, that's right, from scratch. I found this awesome recipe online for apple streusal muffins. Oh my good gracious! They are sooooo yummy. Especially, with a cup of coffee. They are just right for this time of year and the chunks of apples that are baked into the muffins are a nice surprise to find. I definitely think that they are worth the effort. I will have pictures of them up shortly. Hopefully, tomorrow.

I'm a little disappointed in myself because I haven't been making cards as much as I used to. I have things put together but they aren't finished. There is a Christmas card in my craft studio that I started on tonight and I will be working on that. I also have a personalized stationery set that is incomplete. There are three cards and I was hoping for at least ten cards in a set. I have a long way to go. On the other hand, I have one completed card that just needs to be posted to all of my sites. I finished that one tonight before I started baking. Its an OK card. I'm slowly working my way back into the groove of making cards until they come out of my ears. I never realized how much laundry and cleaning would take up most of my time. This is the first time that I've ever been out on my own. I've never had to do any of this stuff.

I just thought I would keep ya posted on what's been going on with me. I will have the picture of the card and muffins tomorrow. =)

Have a good one, ya'll!

I'm still here...

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am making things but I just don't have have as much time as I used to. I have some things in progress and I promise that I will have them up as soon as I finish them. I'm also embroidering a baby quilt for my BFF. That's taking up most of my time...it's gonna be adorable!!! So, hang in there with me.

I'm also thinking about doing a giveaway. When I moved in to my new home I went through my paper stash. I have a lot of repeat paper and paper that I don't think is too attractive. I think you ladies out there will love it though! I'll give you more details when I get ready to part with my paper.

Thanks!

BOO!!

FINALLY!!! A new card. I never thought that I would get another one up for ya'll to see but I did and I hope you enjoy it! It took me a while to make this card and I thought I had lost my cardmaking mojo. I guess a Hawaiian Honeymoon will do that. =P

Anyway, the orange cardstock is from an 8"x8" sheet that I had. I'm not really sure who it is by or where I got it from. The tulle that is used is actually from the candy box that was waiting in our limo. It wasn't in the box but it was wrapped around the box. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be usable if it was inside. Although, it would be a yummy piece of tulle. LOL! The chipboard letters are from Tim Holtz and the button is from a stash of buttons that I have. I believe the patterend paper is from either Making Memories or K & Company. I'm not totally sure. I've had it forever.

I hope you like my newest creation and you can purchase this at my Facebook page or on my eWillow page. Thanks for looking and much love!

I'm baaaa-aaack!!

Hey everyone! I'm finally back from my honeymoon and I had a blast. I will have some pictures up eventually. My husband and I had so much fun. Hawaii was gorgeous and we really didn't want to come home. I'm still not sure when I will have some new cards up because I still have to get settled in to my new home. This is the first time that I have been out on my own and I'm not taking it very well. I unpacked some stuff last night from the honeymoon because we just flew in yesterday and I was crying. Luckily, I married a very understanding man. So, hang in there with me and I will definitely be making things as soon as I can. Have a great day!

Hiatus.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be blogging for probably around two weeks. Gasp! The horror of it all! I don't think I can part with my internet. I have to cancel my internet so my hubby-to-be and I can get our own plan or I can get on his. Therefore, I have to cancel my internet today.
I also will not be blogging because next week is going to be completely insane! My family and I are getting ready for the wedding and there are people coming from everywhere such as Texas, Michigan and Florida. If any of you have ever been in a wedding or gotten married you know how hectic that week is. I'm not even going to be able to make cards or other neat stuff. I'm going to go through withdrawals. Well, maybe not. My honeymoon is in Hawaii and I doubt that I'll be thinking about just darlin' or greeting cards or blogs.
I will see you in a few weeks. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Ok? Have a great day!

Just a Note(cards)

Hey everyone! I got another post for you scrappy people out there!! Check out these notecards that I made! I know they aren't much but I recycled!! The chipboard that I used is the backing of a pack of order forms that we use at work. I love that stuff!! It comes in handy so much that I've actually told one of the guys that I work with to start giving the backings to me when the order forms run out. I hope you like them and they can be purchased on Facebook or on my eWillow store. The stamps, of course, are from the dollar bin at Michaels. They are from Hampton Art/Studio G. Thanks for looking.

Bookmarks Galore!

I got on a bookmark making kick the other night and came up with four new ones. I hope you like them. I'm going to be on a little hiatus in a few days because I'm moving into my fiance's house! My craft room is well on it's way. It's almost in reach. I can hardley wait! I will be sure to get some pictures once I get it to a certain level of awesomeness. LOL!! Don't forget that you can buy these bookmarks on my eWillow store and Facebook. Thanks!

Cupcakes & Haunted Castles

Let's start with the cupcakes. Well, technically, not even cupcakes but cupcake toppers. I got this idea from a blog that I stumbled across. Style Crush has some great DIY tutorials and they are pretty humorous. Check this particular DIY out where she is having some issues with her kitty cat getting in the way of her cupcake topper production. I did mine differently because I don't have small punches or my Cricut handy. (It's a pain in the butt trying to move all my scrapbooking stuff over to my hubby-to-be's house!) Anyway, I used my hand-turn circle cutter from Making Memories. I also used Hero Arts CL155 for the images. I think these would make great cupcake toppers for a little boy's birthday. You could also change the color of the Alligator and the background circles to make it suitable for a little girl's birthday. I only photographed 5 of them but there are 12 in the set. These can be purchased at my store on ewillow.com. Click my badge and it will take you there! Enjoy!
Halloween is slowly creeping up on us and I had some really cute, new stamps to try out from Studio G from the Soloz line. If you read my blog you know that I am the Dollar Bin Diva. Ha! You can't beat cute and cheap stamps. The black card base is a base that I had left over from my wedding invites. They definitely come in handy! Yay! Extras! The orange cardstock is Bazzill. This card can be purchased on my ewillow.com store. Take a look!

Button, Button, Whose Got the Button??

I was looking on Etsy because to be honest with you fellow crafters, I have never really been on Etsy. Gasp!! I wanted to share with you some of the cutest things that I've ever seen made with buttons. Take a look!
Cute Thing #1This bracelet is ADORABLE. I want one of these. Really bad. I could probably try to make it but jewelry really isn't my area of expertise. Although, I really wish that it was. You can take a look at this Etsy Shop by clicking here. Mrs.Gibson has some adorable things!!

Cute thing #2Buttons made into magnets and then covered with bright fabric? Yes, I think so. This would make a cute gift for someone getting a new office or home. These magnets also come in a nifty little tin that you could use for something else. They come in a variety of colors. Click here for Murdock Design.

Cute Thing #3

Ok, I would have never thought of doing this in a million years. I don't have THAT many buttons lying around and how in the world is this done?? This would make for an interesting bouquet for a bride. That would be something everyone would be talking about. I should have ordered one of these for when I walk down the aisle in 3 weeks. Take a look at other bouquests HERE.

This is for all you bookworms!

As promised, I made a corner bookmark last night and it turned out really nice. I was pretty impressed with the results that I got. See? I used American Crafts patterned paper & ribbon, a Martha Stewart border punch and last but not least I used the K&Company Handmade Embellies. The K&Company items are the butterfly and the swirly tag. I can't wait to make more of these! You can find the tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers website. Click HERE to get the tutorial. You are going to love it! I know you are!
I think these would make really nice, simple gifts for the person who always has their nose in a book. Someone like me. LOL. I love to read and this is a way to combine reading and scrapbooking into one!
This bookmark is up for purchase on my Facebook page - just darlin'. Thanks for looking and I hope every one of you has a great day.

Miss You

Hey everyone! I made a new card last night that was so simple and easy. I'm not very good with just stamping and using different colors of stamps. I thought I would finally break out of that box with this card. I used Amethyst ink from Autumn Leaves and Encore Metallic Silver. I really love the silver ink. Its understated but it definitely stands out. The "miss you" stamp is a dollar bin goodie from Michael's. It's by Studio G from Hampton Art. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I LOVE THOSE THINGS! Let me know what you think and enjoy!

So, for my next trick I will be making these neato corner bookmarks. I'm so excited to try this. I've never done one of these before. I will attempt to have one of these up in the next couple of days. Please bear with me!

Buzz Buzz

So, I felt completely inspired yesterday by the bee stamp that came with the Warm Fuzzies stamp set from Hampton Arts. This stamp set was designed by Kelly Panacci. I saw the yellow cardstock hanging out in my scrapping area and the lightbulb went on. This card is for purchase on Facebook. Thanks for looking and give me some feedback. I love to know what you think!

ADA Compliant Card

This stamp from Daisy Bucket Designs reminds me of the ADA Compliant signs that we do at my place of work. I work at a sign shop and I see these little men and women on a daily basis. ADA compliant signs are the signs with braille that you see in a hospital or school. I thought they were cute when I found them at my local craft store and that they would make for an interesting card.

To be totally honest, I'm not really sure how I feel about this card. I don't hate it but it's definitley not one of my favorites. So what do you other bloggers out there think. I love feedback! This card is also entered for the newest challenge at Everything But The Kitchen Sink.

This card is up for purchase on my just darlin page on Facebook. Click here.

New Stamps!

Yesterday I was feeling quite crafty. I mean who doesn't feel inspired after coming home from their favorite scrapbooking store, right? Michael's had some new stamps in their dollar bin and I grabbed several of them. They were simple but cute and I thought they would make some great cards. Here is one of those cards:
This particular stamp is so cute and I thought it needed color. It couldn't be just pink all the way across the board, ya know? Thanks goodness for %40 coupons because I also purchased the American Craft Stamp Markers. These things are fantastic!! They make your stamps like new again because of all the possibilities with color!

The next card is done with American Crafts paper and 1 strip of cardstock. The "hello." stamp is also one of the new ones that I bought yesterday. These stamps are Studio G by Hampton Arts! I finally took the time to tie a really cute bow! There are some great videos on Youtube to help you learn if you are having some trouble. Sorry about the TV in the background of this picture. My camera isn't working and I had to use my cell phone. It's not the best quality but it helps get the point across.

Thanks for looking and these cards can be purchased here.

Now & Forever

Another one of the frames that I do. These are so much fun to do because they are so easy! I decided to do a wedding frame. The flowers are from Recollections and I only got them for $1.00 at Michael's. I love that store! The now and forever metal sticker is from Making Memories as well at the swirly thing at the top. Everything blended so well to make a gorgeous frame!

Buttons & Lace

It's always good to have random lace lying around your scrapping area with some needles and thread. I'm really proud of this card because it's something I actually came up with and not from a sketch like normally. The buttons are sewn on and the brown ribbon is sewn on to the lace as well. This card reminds me of a cozy room or my grandma for some reason. Ha! Who knows? This card is entered for the Everything But The Kitchen Sink button challenge. Thanks for looking and as always this card is up for sale on Facebook.

Fun Facts...

I'm starting something a little different today. Starting today, every Monday I will post some interesting facts about different subjects. I thought it would be something a little bit more fun and interesting than letting you know what supplies I used for what card all the time. Today's topic is none other than me.

1. I am scared to death of butterflies and moths. I don't know why they just creep me out.
2. I have an American Quarter Horse and her name is Dixie. She's a dollbaby but she can be stubborn sometimes.
3. I'm getting married on September 18, 2010 and I'm so excited but starting to get a little nervous. I just can't believe that I'm getting married. LOL!
4. My best friend and I have been best friends since kindergarten. She's like a sister to me.
5. I have an extreme paper and pen fetish. I love stationery and cards. I guess that's why I make them. I've been that way since I was little.
6. My dream car is either a Corvette or a Camero.
7. I drive a 2006 GMC Envoy.
8. Shopping = Fun
9. I'm pretty good at bowling.
10. I'm running late for work...so gotta go!!

Stationery with an S

This is my first set of cards that I've ever done. I did these a few months back and I just recently did a new set with a different design. I would like to make more sets of cards but they are sort of time consuming. I really enjoy making them though. I think my customers get more bang for their buck if they have a whole set of my cards.
The background images of the set are all stamped with a background stamp. I don't remember who the stamps are by. Sorry. I used an EK Success border punch for the white strip and the yellow and white circles are from my Cricut. The flowers are from Prima.
I tried doing these in another color and they just don't work very well. I'll have to try it again and see how it comes out the second time. The black really makes the yellow pop.
Thanks for looking y'all and these are for sale for $12.00 on my Facebook Page. Click here.

Happy Birthday...again.

I know that I just posted a birthday card last night but one can never make too many birthday cards. They are in high demand. Everyone has a birthday. You can't really avoid it.
I used the newest sketch from Mojo Monday's blog and I LOVE how this card turned out. I was in a bit of a rut last night and I just started cutting away when I saw this sketch to make this card. At first I was a bit intimidated by it because there were so many elements to it. Lots and lots of layers and usually I don't do too well with those.
The striped paper is from the Metropolitan line from American Crafts and the rest of it is just some scrap cardstock I had lying around. I love using scraps because I have so many of them. The cake stamp is from Studio G by Hampton Arts. Its a DOLLAR BIN stamp from Michael's. It was one of those cute little stamps that I just had to have. I couldn't pass it up and I'm glad that I didn't.
Thanks for taking a peek!
This card is for purchase at just darlin' on Facebook. Click here.

Cloudy Day

This balloon stamp from Stampendous goes great with this cloud patterned paper from American Crafts. Clouds and balloons go hand in hand, right? The stamp actually longer and has more detail to it but I cut that part off and added embroidery floss for the balloon strings. I thought that it added a better touch to the card and gave it some texture. They are colored in with EK Success colored pencils. They are really nice pencils if you are on a budget. They color very smooth and have bold color. The scalloped punch above the text is also from EK Success. "happy birthday!!" is CK Scrapbook. I believe I got that font as a freebie. I'm not exactly sure where that came from. I'm a font fanatic so your guess is as good as mine.
This card is available for purchase on my Facebook page (other cards are also available.)

Screws, Nuts & Bolts

...that's what little robots are made of and little robots are the theme of my newest card. I really liked how this card turned out. It just screams little boy and the cute robots just make it really pop. I'm actually really proud of this card because the coloring of the robots turned out better than I thought it would. That's not really one of my strong points but I'm trying to get better at that.
I purchased this stamp set from Michael's and it's from Recollections as well as the green gear paper. The blue cardstock is just some scrap that I had laying around. The blue cardstock is stamped with Encore silver ink. The star stamps are from the robot set. Thanks for looking and comments are appreciated!

New Blinkie

See the new blinkie on the right hand side of your screen for Mojo Monday?? You need to visit their blog! It's awesome. If you are ever in one of those creative blocks they have TONS of card sketches that you can get inspiration from! I've used some of their sketches and each time the cards turned out great.

This is one of the cards that was produced from one of their sketches.

It's the simple things...

I think this phrase applies to a lot of things in life. Some people have nice cars, huge homes and a lot of money but at the end of the day it's the simple things that really make you happy. I know I don't have any of these things but life is about being with your family at the end of the day and waking up knowing that you are healthy and loved.

I think this phrase also applies to scrapbooking as well. I know that a lot of the times I want to pile on a lot of embellishments on layouts, cards, etc. I also wanted to do that to the frame that I just finished a couple of days ago. I kept rearranging flowers and this one little metal sticker that said "love." It really didn't have a spot and I didn't like the way the flowers were being arranged at all. It was then that I decided to take start with a clean slate. Thank goodness nothing was glued down so all I had to do was just take everything off that I had put on to "visualize."

Finally, I gathered some twine, one yellow brad and one of the white flower that I was working with earlier. I tied the twine in a bow, made the flower look like a daisy with the yellow brad....TA DA! It turned out to be such a simple change from what I wanted it to look like before with all the bells and whistles.

It's such a simple frame but I think that sometimes simpler is better.
